This week has been my first full week of blogging!! Can I get a collective WOOHOOOOO!!!??? Ya’ll, I had no idea what all goes into this and I give all of you long time bloggers mad love for figuring all this out. You guys rock. Since my blog purpose is to inspire others, document our lives, and journal our debt payoff journey, I decided I wanted to start a weekly wrap-up post about what we have done to head towards our goal of being debt free. Here is the first week’s wrap-up, or strides we took to help the debt payoff journey:
Free Childcare from Family that Also (Bonus!) Fed Us!
This week has been a little tricky without the addition of starting the blog. We had vacation bible school at our church, and I am the craft teacher. It is such a fun week, but usually hectic and tiring. Our VBS runs from 9-11 in the mornings, so I headed to work after VBS and would stay late each day. My mother, aunt, and some close friends helped me with the kiddos this week, since my babysitter was at the beach. This, in turn, helped with childcare costs. (Thanks ya’ll!!) They also cooked supper for my family several nights and we ate at church one night. Have I told ya’ll I really have the best family and friends?? These helped tremendously with childcare and food costs, as I probably would have picked up pizza one night, and it would’ve been sandwiches and cereal the others.
Selling on Kidizen/Tradesy and Listing More to Sell
I have continued to add some of the kid’s old clothes to Kidizen, and made three sales this week. I also had several old items listed on Tradesy, and one sold just this morning! Once I sell and the money goes into my bank account, I just send it on to the credit card company via my online bill pay option. This keeps me from spending it! This weekend I have been cleaning out closets for more items to sell, and plan on posting this week.
Transferred Money to a 0% APR and Free Balance Transfer Fee Credit Card
, I applied and received a new credit card from Chase that has a 0% Balance Transfer Fee and 0% APR for 18 months. I plan to pay this balance off in 4-6 months. Before anyone posts negative comments about credit cards, I am a HUGE Dave Ramsey follower. I know credit cards aren’t good, but my lowest APR is currently 10%, so this will allow me to make some great strides with the debt payoff.
So, while this list is not huge, it’s still an improvement given the craziness of the week! What have you done this week to work towards your goal?
